With a rocky start to their day, Kathy and Mike’s wedding had a lot of charm.

When the suit rental company arrived with the grooms missing pants 1 hour after we were scheduled to start our portraits, the bride and groom still had smiles on their faces as though everything was perfect.

They kept it small and intimate with their 3 children as their wedding party, and only close family and friends for the guests. I loved the charm that the Ozona town hall had to offer for their ceremony. The inspiration comes flowing, for me, in places like this. To think Ozona, this little town near Palm Harbor, had so much to offer!

Here is a featured image from their wedding. I am starting to play around with digital scrapbooking to give some of my images a more story book feel.

Michal, named after her father Mike, and Brian were so fun to work with last saturday! They were carefree and light hearted while thinking warms thoughts in this chilly Florida weather. (20 degrees below normal!) Here are just a few of my favorite images from the wedding.

Kristin & Rob

These guys were so much fun and down to earth! Rob loves comic books same as my husband and I, while Kristin had this spark that could light up a room a mile away! Their wedding was held at the beautiful Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida, so there was a nice outdoor artsy flare that went along with the wedding. Not only that, but they were introduced at their reception to Star Wars’ Imperial March. That just says it all right there.

Jill & Ben

This beach wedding was an early morning event. When we started with portraits around 7:30am, I couldn’t believe that the guys were all ready to go, and the girls were running just on time! Ben is also from my home state of Ohio, so we had a lot to talk about. Jill was just full of smiles and laughter throughout the day!

It was so sweet to see how they were totally into each other when they saw each other before the ceremony.

They had this really cute candy table at the reception.

Thanks for making this early morning shoot so much fun and relaxed you guys!

Kristina and Brett were the most relaxed and easy going couple to work with! I photographed this wedding as a photojournalist with Alexis Photography so I was able to focus more on the detail shots, which I love.

Lena & Adam

September beach weddings in Florida can sometimes call for rain, and last weekends did just that. Even though it rained all day, it stopped just for Lena & Adam’s ceremony and portrait time. When we all made it inside for the reception, the rain came back again for an encore!

This couple is from my original hometown of Columbus, Ohio! It was so fun to talk about Ohio with them and their families, and they were so thoughtful as to bring me some buckeye chocolates (chocolate covered peanut butter).  You guys are awesome!

The grey overcast actually allowed for some nice lighting.

I love playing with textures.

For their ring shot, I put the rings on a branch of a tree they had set up in the foyer of their reception room. Hanging on the tree branches were name cards for the guests to see which table to sit at, so creative!

Thanks for the fun evening and making me feel like one of the family, you guys! Congrats :)

Megan & Chase

This weekend was a wet one in the St. Petersburg, FL area.  When I went to photograph a beach wedding, for CHI Photography, I was hoping for the best.  The bride and groom were such great sports as the rain started to come down 15 minutes before their ceremony time, and it didn’t stop.  They were still so very happy and had a beautiful ceremony on a covered patio with their parents and brothers and sisters.

I love this picture because it shows the excitement on the brides face as she and her step mother works on her crazy hair.

She had such a beautiful simple dress, perfect for a wet beach wedding!

Here you can’t tell, but it is already raining outside.

The best thing is, is that they played along with the weather!

Congratulations you guys!!

Tracey & Luis

Saturday’s wedding gave us the challange of rain.  Working around it, we were able to quickly grab a few shots outdoors in between showers.  This wedding was photographed with Stacey from Alexis Photography.  It was so fun working with her and with the bride and groom!  They and their families really made us feel like part of the gang.  Congrats Tracey and Luis and thank you for being such great sports!

This hallway was great!!  It was one long narrow hallway, so when Tracey and her bridesmaids went there to bustle her dress, I had to grab a few shots.

The Vinoy, in St. Petersburg,  is so beautiful inside and out!! There are so many places to photograph here, not to mention our model like couple.  They both were so sweet and relaxed throughout the day even when things went wrong, such as the florist not delivering their flowers.  I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot with Paul, owner of Chi Photography, at this wedding.  Thanks Paul!! And thanks Jennifer and Jason for the fun day!!

Jennifer & Jason 01

While getting ready, Jennifer had this look of excitement and anticipation the whole time. It was so cute!

What I love about this image is how the bride is looking at the groom. That was a special moment for her.

Not only are the bride and groom having fun during their ceremony, but so is the brides mother and aunt.
