Judith and Jermaine’s wedding was in Harbor Island near downtown Tampa. I love it when bride and grooms have their weddings all at one place! We were able to focus more time on photography rather than traveling from one place to the other. I started photographing Judith in her room at the Westin Hotel.

Judith looked amazing in this dress!

Jermaine and his family cracked me up all night long. His dad’s face is halarious in this photo!

This photo was my favorite because it shows how happy and love they are. Congrats, you guys!

Jamie and Andre decided to have their wedding ceremony on the famous Honeymoon Island to have a relaxed, serene, beach wedding. With only 10 guests, consisting of close family members, they kept their wedding simple and classic.

While working with them, I learned that Andre’s family spoke mostly French. This made me really excited because I speak some French, its not good at all but still I had fun with them.

They really treated me as part of the family for those few hours we spent together, and that meant a lot to me to become a part of their tight-nit group. Merci beaucoup, Jamie and Andre!

Congrats to my sister in law and her hubby for their new arrival, Desmond! This picture was taken the day after they brought him home from the hospital. I was so surprised at how he kept his eyes open long enough for me to grab this shot of him as he was about to get one of his many naps.

Photographing Isabelle’s 8 month portraits deemed worthy :) I was flattered to be asked to come back and photograph her again after her 3 month portrait shoot. To see her last session, click here.

She provided many sweet smiles and giggles. I love her bright blue eyes!

We started in her room then headed outside for more fun and playful portraits.

Here, she is having fun up on her daddy’s shoulders.

Can’t wait to see you for your 1 year portrait session, Isabelle!

Here are a few more of my favorite images from Kathy & Mike’s amazing wedding!

With a rocky start to their day, Kathy and Mike’s wedding had a lot of charm.

When the suit rental company arrived with the grooms missing pants 1 hour after we were scheduled to start our portraits, the bride and groom still had smiles on their faces as though everything was perfect.

They kept it small and intimate with their 3 children as their wedding party, and only close family and friends for the guests. I loved the charm that the Ozona town hall had to offer for their ceremony. The inspiration comes flowing, for me, in places like this. To think Ozona, this little town near Palm Harbor, had so much to offer!

Here is a featured image from their wedding. I am starting to play around with digital scrapbooking to give some of my images a more story book feel.

Sebastian

Happy Valentine’s Day! To celebrate, I am sharing with you the cards that my husband, Mike Maihack, and I made for each other.

He drew, colored, and printed this card for me featuring our two kitties, Ash and Misty. It is so cute and he totally picked up their personalities. The inside says “we loves u.”

Scrapbooking is a fun hobby of mine. I love to scrap whenever I can get a chance. Of course, Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to scrap a card for Mike. The inside of the card says “I wake up happy.”

This detail of the “every day” embellishment shows that I hand wrote it, and distressed the edges myself. I even taped the paper onto chip board and cut it out myself. Also, you can see how I drew in the stitch marks around the edge of the pink paper.

I also cut out the hearts from chip board as well, using different paper patterns.

I love scrappin’! It’s a fun way for me to keepsake our photos and memories.

Last week I got to photograph model Ashley. We went to Ybor city so we could get more of an urban look with her portraits. This time her hair was its natural curly self. Ybor has a lot of interesting spots to photograph.

New Postcards

So the time has come to design some new postcards! When I first start on creating any design, I always rely on the good ‘ol internets to find samples of the type of design I am going for. Admittedly, it was hard to find nice samples to go off of, but I like to see samples to come up with ideas for my own. Now that I have created my own promo pieces, I thought I could post them to hopefully help out any other photographers who need some ideas for designing their postcards or ads. The model postcard is to promote myself with models and modeling agencies. I love working with models, they are so easy to photograph for some reason. The other postcard is to promote my portrait side of my work. I plan on passing out around 500 of these at an expo I will be attending at the end of the month. Enjoy!

I love the background I created for this one. Be prepared to see more of that!
